The record-breaking box office run of Dhurandhar, the high-octane spy thriller starring Ranveer Singh, has officially reached a historic milestone on its 13th day of release.
Directed by Aditya Dhar, the film has not only cemented its status as a blockbuster but has now entered the record books by surpassing the lifetime domestic collection of SS Rajamouli’s epic masterpiece, Baahubali:
The Beginning. As of its second Wednesday (Day 13), Dhurandhar raked in an estimated ₹25.50 crore net in India, bringing its total domestic earnings to a staggering ₹437.25 crore.
This feat is particularly remarkable as it allowed the film to leapfrog over the lifetime Indian net collections of both Baahubali 1 (₹421 crore) and the Hindi version of KGF: Chapter 2 (₹435 crore).
By doing so, Dhurandhar has emerged as the third-highest-grossing Indian film of 2025, trailing only behind other major hits like Kantara: Chapter 1 and Chhaava.
The film’s trajectory is a testament to extraordinary word-of-mouth and sustained audience interest.
After a solid opening of ₹28 crore on December 5, the movie witnessed an unprecedented surge in its second week—a rarity in modern cinema where big-budget films often see sharp declines after the initial weekend.
In fact, Dhurandhar’s second Friday, Saturday, and Sunday figures were significantly higher than its opening weekend, highlighted by a massive ₹58 crore haul on its second Sunday.
On the global stage, the film is equally dominant, with its worldwide gross currently hovering around the ₹640 crore to ₹665 crore mark.
This makes it the highest-grossing film of Ranveer Singh’s illustrious career, comfortably overtaking the ₹585 crore worldwide record previously held by Padmaavat.
Even more impressive is its performance in North America, where it shattered the eight-year-old record of Baahubali 2 for the highest second-Friday collection by an Indian film, proving that the spy thriller has a massive appeal beyond the domestic market.
The narrative of Dhurandhar follows the character of Hamza (played by Singh), an Indian operative tasked with infiltrating complex terror networks in Karachi, inspired by the real-life events of Operation Lyari.
The film’s success is also shared by a powerhouse ensemble cast, including Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt, R. Madhavan, and Arjun Rampal, whose performances have been widely lauded despite the film receiving an “A” (Adults Only) rating from the CBFC due to its gritty, violent content.
This rating makes Dhurandhar the second most successful adult-rated Hindi film of all time, following only behind Animal. Despite facing a ban in several Gulf countries like Saudi Arabia and the UAE due to its geopolitical themes, the film’s momentum remains unchecked.
Analysts predict that Dhurandhar is on its way to the ₹500 crore net club in India and could potentially challenge the ₹1000 crore worldwide milestone if it manages to hold its ground against the impending release of James Cameron’s Avatar: Fire and Ash.
This “Dhurandhar fever” has even led to the postponement of other major releases, as exhibitors prioritise the film’s high occupancy rates, which reached over 45% in night shows even on a working Wednesday.
With its profitability already estimated at over 250% against a budget of ₹140 crore, the film has not only revitalised Ranveer Singh’s box office standing. Still, it has also set a new benchmark for the Indian spy genre, with a sequel already confirmed for March 2026.
