In a significant update for moviegoers and digital subscribers, the OTT partner for the highly anticipated war drama Ikkis has been officially revealed.
According to the latest reports as of December 2025, Amazon Prime Video has secured the post-theatrical streaming rights for the film.
This deal is part of a broader, multi-year collaboration between Prime Video and Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films, ensuring that the streaming giant will be the exclusive home for their major 2025 releases.
While an exact digital premiere date has not yet been announced, the film is expected to follow the industry-standard window of six to eight weeks after its cinema debut, likely landing on the platform by February 2026.
The Story Behind the Title
The movie is a tribute to the life of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal, India’s youngest recipient of the Param Vir Chakra. The title Ikkis (meaning 21) refers to the age at which Khetarpal was martyred during the Battle of Basantar in the 1971 Indo-Pakistani War.
Director Sriram Raghavan has emphasized that the film will remain a human-centric coming-of-age drama rather than a “comic-book hero” version of events, focusing on the courage and dignity of the young soldier.
The film features a strong ensemble cast, including Jaideep Ahlawat, Sikandar Kher, and debutante Simar Bhatia.
Upon its theatrical release, it is set for a major box-office clash with the romantic drama Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri, starring Kartik Aaryan and Ananya Panday.
For those who miss the large-screen experience, the Prime Video release will offer the first opportunity to watch this poignant tribute from home.
