Ranveer Singh’s espionage thriller, Dhurandhar, has concluded its monumental first week at the box office with an explosive performance, solidifying its status as a major blockbuster and establishing several new benchmarks for the actor.
The film, directed by Aditya Dhar, amassed an impressive total of ₹207.25 crore net in India by the end of its seventh day, officially entering the coveted ₹200 crore club within just one week.
This remarkable collection was powered by a consistently strong run throughout the weekdays, with the film reporting collections of approximately ₹27 crore on its seventh day (Thursday), indicating extraordinary word-of-mouth that caused its weekday numbers to remain robust—a clear sign of exceptional audience approval.
By crossing the ₹200 crore mark in its opening week, Dhurandhar has comfortably secured its place among the highest first-week grossers in Bollywood history and already stands as Ranveer Singh’s third-highest-earning film of all time in the domestic market, surpassing major past successes in record time.
The true scale of its success is highlighted by its immediate destruction of lifetime records set by other prominent films. In just six days, the film had already surpassed the lifetime net collections of two significant blockbusters: Ajay Devgn’s Raid 2 (₹179.30 crore) and the Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone starrer Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Bajirao Mastani (₹184 crore).
Dhurandhar’s exceptional performance, driven by its high-octane action and gripping narrative, has put it on a clear trajectory to challenge his second-highest grosser, Simmba (₹240.30 crore), and potentially even his highest, Padmaavat (₹302.15 crore).
Furthermore, the film’s success extends beyond the domestic front, with its worldwide gross collections surpassing the ₹300 crore mark in its first week, a monumental achievement considering reports that the film faced a ban on theatrical release in six major Gulf countries.
The immense mid-week hold and the film’s ability to maintain high occupancy, especially in evening and night shows, underscore its massive appeal and position Dhurandhar as a colossal commercial success that has definitively set a new box office standard for action cinema.
